Just few days after Tonse government blamed Democratic Progressive Party-DPP for the incessant blackouts in the country, DPP has vowed to provide help to deal with the power shortage.
Speaking during a press briefing held in Lilongwe, Malawians as Minister of Energy Ibrahim Matola claimed that DPP left Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) and Electricity Generation Company (EGENCO) in crisis hence persistent blackouts.
The former president and leader of DPP, Peter Mutharika has vowed to provide technical experts to fix the electricity crisis in the country currently.
Mutharika said this in a statement that was signed by his Spokespeople, Shadric Namalomba where among other things he disperses Matola's claim on DPP.
He then blames Tonse government to be back the incessant blackouts because of it's decision to cancel with Aggreko, a electricity supplying company that was contributing 78 megawats to that 444 megawats that the country was producing 3 years ago.
Currently the country is only managing to produce 235 megawatts hence the incessant blackouts.
